We envision a self-reliant regional food system where as much of the food as possible to meet the food needs of the region’s population, particularly highly-distressed Black communities, is produced, processed, distributed and purchased at multiple scales and levels within the region, resulting in maximum resilience, minimal importation and significant economic and social return for Black farmers and the communities they serve.
